SOPA and PIPA Strike

Tomorrow, January 18th, 2012, will be the largest internet protest in history. Thousands of sites across the internet, including some of the biggest in the world, will be blacking out and directing people to contact Congress to kill the web censorship bill, SOPA and PIPA. I will be joining this protest, and thus, this site will black out and redirect to this page. I thank you all for supporting and am sorry if this causes any inconvenience.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the site runs on Pacific time, so it’s not the 18th yet for me.

Why is 7Log 4.0 on hiatus?

Just wanted to make a post as to why 7Log 4.0 hasn’t been release. Well, basically, I’ve COMPLETELY lost access to a Windows Vista PC, which the main feature of 7Log 4.0 was to add Vista. You can see the problem here.

However, I’ve been doing some other projects to fill the void. I’m still doing research for W7TB, and I released my new Notepad program, Notepad#. I am also working on a new project using the Gecko Layout Engine and XULRunner. I’m pretty sure you can speculate what it will be just by clicking the links.

If you’d like to push 7Log development yourself, all you have to do is make your own fork: https://github.com/Lomeli12/7Log

Have fun :D

Windows 8 programs coming soon! :3

In case you didn’t know, today Microsoft released a “pre-beta” version of Windows 8 for Developers on the Windows Developer’s site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516/

I’ve been so excited for 8, that I couldn’t resist downloading my copy! As this copy of Windows 8 is for Developers and comes with Visual Studio 11, the Windows 8 SDK, and some other goodies, that means I’ll be making programs for Windows 8 as soon as my download finishes! :)

Updates on the site and 7Log’s source code.

Decided to inform you guys on a couple of updates while I’m distracted from my homework :D

1. I added reCaptcha to the site to stop spam bots
2. I finally mustered enough attention to finish uploading 7Log 3.5′s source to google code lawl http://7log.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
3. I added 7Log’s source to GitHub if you prefer it over SVN: https://github.com/Lomeli12/7Log

That’s about it for now. 7Log version 4 has gotten little work done due to school.

Sorry about down time

Just fixed the site. It turns out the error is caused by something that still baffles me today. For some reason, the last character in my password for the SQL database of this site gets deleted sometimes(about once every six months). A quick fix, but I still have no idea how it happens

7Log 3.5 up for grabs

That’s right, 7Log 3.5 is on Google Code for download:
http://bit.ly/ozDvVp

As with any version, there are several changes:

  1. Small UI changes, nothing real big or noticeable, but still worth mentioning.
  2. Image Optimization for images larger than 256KB (Provided by
    http://www.imageoptimizer.net/). May not always work.
  3. 2 new Login Hacks: Changes login screen to old Username & Password screen of
    old.
  4. All login hacks are now written into 7Log’s coding. No more .reg files taking up
    room.
  5. COMMENTS IN SOURCE CODE :D
  6. Incomplete coding for Vista Support within 7Log’s coding.

Just to name a few.

7Log 3.5 to be released

So yeah, I’ll probably be releasing 7Log version 3.5 sometime this week. While Vista support will be saved for version 4.0, I thought I might as well release the image optimization feature I mentioned in my last update. The only thing I need to do before I release it is to add the new login hack and create the new installer. Make sure to check in a couple of days.

Old Theme Back + News about 7Log

Well, I decided to bring the old theme back. There’s just something about it that feels…right. I guess it’s my love of Zombies…and the extra room it leaves me. :) Well, anyway, I also put the twitter updates at the bottom of the page instead of on the right just to make room.

Now to the news about 7Log. As I said in a tweet a long time ago, I’m adding Vista support to 7Log. So far…it’s not goings as fast as I thought, but it’s going well. After Vista support is completed, I might head on to XP. However, with XP dying and Windows 8 coming out sometime next year, it’s very unlikely. One last thing about 7Log, one of the new features I’m going to add is for it to “shrink” any images that exceed the 256KB limit. Before you thank me, the credit should go to Image Optimizer for creating the technology and giving it out for free and easy to use DLL file for Visual Studio.

I’m also looking for new login hacks. Anyone that has any unique hacks for Windows 7, please e-mail me the hack(either by telling me the instructions or in the form of a .reg file) to anthonylomeli11@gmail.com or using the contact form on the site.

Thanks you for your patience. I know updates are slightly far apart.
